Police in Sandy Bay First Nation are investigating a shooting in the community.
At approximately 3:05 p.m. on Jan. 21, police were dispatched to a report a man had been shot at the intersection of Main Road and Ridge Road in the community, according to a press release from the Manitoba First Nations Police Service.

Officers and EMS arrived to find a man on the ground with a gunshot wound, police say. He was transported to hospital in stable condition but needed immediate surgery.
Police say the victim got into a verbal argument with two other men. The victim was bear sprayed and shot, according to police. The suspect and victim are believed to know each other.
Police issued an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Ethan Markus Beaulieu. He is facing multiple charges, including discharging a firearm with intent, assault with a weapon and possession of a firearm contrary to an order.
Beaulieu is considered to be armed and dangerous, police say, and should not be approached. He is believed to have several face tattoos, including the number 39.
