Hey there, time traveller!

From Brandon to France — two local entrepreneurs have gone international with their products.
Jeff Reimer and Andrea Varcoe, owners of "It’s Charlow, Darling!" on 10th Street, will have their perfume handed out at the Cannes Film Festival later this month.
To have their product included in gift bags is incredible, Reimer said.
"I could never guess that this is where we’d be in two years," he said during a phone call with The Sun on Monday. "To be not just a part of people who are there to celebrate and win awards, but this is going to the same types of people who are there to highlight their work and to celebrate the work they’ve put out."
In addition to perfume, the couple creates hand-crafted candles and bath products.
Their items have been showcased internationally before — earlier this month, they had one of their candles called "Ophelia" handed out as part of a Mother’s Day giveaway in Los Angeles to a group of celebrity mothers. Their candle was given to household names including Kate Hudson, Mindy Kaling, Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian and Jessica Simpson.
In January, they had their items handed out in gift bags at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, and they were also part of the Oscars.
For the Cannes Film Festival, which begins today, they chose perfume rollers called "a perfect pear" to be handed out, he said, a scent that was based on a trip they took to France about five years ago.
"We felt it was a great tie into the region and the festival itself," he said. "South of France is just littered with pear trees, everywhere you go in the countryside there are pear trees, and it just smells so fresh and crisp. This scent is fresh pear, a little bit of guiacwood wood which kind of smells like cedar, and it has a slight spice note to it which fresh pear has itself."
The couple’s business is still new. They started it up about two and a half years ago, inspired by the sights and smells of an island during a trip they took to Croatia three years ago.
"We were joking about how you can bring home sand in a bottle, and you can bring home photographs of your trip and you can bring home souvenirs, but you can’t bring home the scents of your trip. And, often the scents are the most incredible parts of your journey and the part that brings you back to your trip memories."
So when they got home, they created some candles for themselves. They realized that it could be turned into something more, and started up their business.
Their candles are all made with pure soy wax, and use a high-quality perfume grade fragrance that smells genuine, he said.
"The pear we sent to France smells just like pears, our espresso candle smells just like expresso, it doesn’t smell like coffee like with cookies and cake and chocolate, it just smells pure."
The work gives plenty of freedom to the creative couple. In January, they were in Toronto and came across a restaurant that had an incredible wood smoke smell, he said. It smelled like pine and birch and leather.
"The second we walked in I said ‘we have to make this scent, I’m in love with this scent.’"
When they got back to Brandon, they went to work to craft the scent which is now on their line full time.
"That’s the part that I love about this, is being able to create scent memories and share them, and to give people a product that they truly love."
