Prairie Mountain RCMP are investigating after a fatal collision on Highway 41 near St. Lazare.
The collision happened at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Monday, police say. The vehicle was travelling westbound into the town when it left the road and hit a tree.
The 58-year-old St. Lazare man driving the vehicle suffered severe injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He was the only person in the vehicle at the time.
Police say alcohol was not a factor and the man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
An RCMP forensic collision deconstructionist and the RCMP criminal collision investigation team are assisting with the investigation.
