Marathon Monday is teeing off its second year of fundraising efforts to put an end to cancer.
On July 15, Patrick Law and Dylan Thornborough will play more than 99 holes of golf to support the Canadian Cancer Society at the Glenboro Golf and Country Club.
The day-long event will begin at sunrise, and conclude with a supper at 7 p.m.
Following a highly successful inaugural event that raised more than $3,000, Marathon Monday is an initiative close to both golfers’ hearts.
“Cancer has directly affected both our families, and we feel it’s important that we do our part to put a stop to the disease,” Law said.
Getting the idea for the event while attending post-secondary schooling for professional golf management, the pair quickly realized using their talent on the course to support the cause was the obvious answer.
“Golf is such a huge part of both of our lives, and what better way to raise money than by doing something we love?” Thornborough said.
Tickets for the Marathon Monday supper are available for $30, with all proceeds going directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. To purchase tickets, please contact Patrick at 204-720-9623.
Pledges can be made at a number of locations in Glenboro, including Tru Building Centre, Glenboro Golf & Country Club and Wallis Agencies.
Out-of-town pledges can also be made at Shilo Country Club, and Cypress River Credit Union.
