Assiniboine Community College is teaming up with consulting engineering firm Carson Dunlop to provide a new online home inspection program set to debut next month.
According to a Thursday news release from the college, this new program is designed to equip participants with the technical skills and expertise required to conduct visual exams of residential building areas to a high standard.
Carson Dunlop has delivered more than 50,000 courses in this field since the company was established in 1978.
"We are delighted to partner with Carson Dunlop to deliver this new program which will equip graduates with the skills to fill in-demand housing inspector roles," ACC director of continuing studies Tannis James said in the release. "Graduates have the option to become professional consultants as an independent business owner or join larger inspection companies."
This nationally recognized certification program is delivered entirely online and consists of 10 courses covering topics such as the systems and components of a house, communication skills and knowledge of professional practice, creating reports and marketing your business to real estate agents.
Videos, case studies and live webinars are all woven into the program, which could be completed in approximately three months when studying at a full-time capacity.
