The RCMP will not lay charges in the July 30 death of a pedestrian along the Trans-Canada Highway, according to a spokesperson.
A 30-year-old woman from Brandon was killed at approximately 4:15 a.m. that morning when a westbound vehicle collided with her. RCMP say she was laying in the middle of the road at the time.
Cpl. Julie Courchaine, a spokesperson for the RCMP, said Thursday there is no criminal investigation into the 44-year-old driver. Police don’t know why the woman was lying in the road and there are many unanswered questions around the case.
