A planned Yellow Vest Canada protest Saturday failed to draw any rally members.
Slated to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brandon City Hall, the courtyard of the building was empty as yellow vesters failed to appear.
A call from the organizing body, Yellow Vest Canada, encouraged attendees to head out with their yellow vests and signs, along with "whatever you got to make everything loud."
Instead, city hall was quiet.
Promoted by a Facebook post, the Yellow Vest Canada page states that more rallies are planned each Saturday at the same time and place until March 30.
Marketed as non-partisan and family friendly, the rallies are in opposition to the carbon tax and call for all forms of taxation to be reviewed and lowered. A push for Canadian sovereignty and free speech have also become hallmarks of the movement.
