HALIFAX - Health officials in Nova Scotia say a total of 58 people have been admitted to hospital as a result of COVID-19.
All are receiving specialized care in a designated COVID-19 unit, while 10 patients are in intensive care.
Officials say two other groups are also in hospital with infections, including 51 people who were identified as positive upon arrival but who were admitted for another medical reason and 108 who contracted the virus after being admitted.
The province also reported 627 new confirmed cases today.
They include 339 in the Halifax area, 113 in the province's eastern zone, 93 in the western zone and 82 in the northern zone.
Officials say provincial health labs completed 4,124 tests on Friday.
