Down with Trudeau

Our prime minister never passes up the opportunity to criticize and divide Canadians every chance he gets. He sees the latest decision by Ontario Premier Doug Ford to keep kids in school as an attack on our fundamental rights and freedoms, which is ironic considering just a few months ago he used the most powerful act in our country to freeze bank accounts and threatened jail to people exercising their right to protest. I guess if it’s right or wrong depends on if it’s an advantage to him or his followers. What a sad situation when the prime minister sees his own personal or political gain boosted by criticizing others’ actions. Seems to me he might be more well suited to being on a high school student council.

Hooray for daylight time

I’m all for eliminating changing our clocks in the spring and then again in the fall. Staying with daylight time gives us longer daylight into the evenings. For all of us who have kids playing baseball, soccer or rugby, that extra hour of daylight gives our kids more time to complete these games in the daylight. Today more than ever, our kids need to get out of the house, play sports, socialize and be outside. So it’s a big fat yes!

Congrats to Jeff, Heather

Congratulations to our new mayor, Jeff Fawcett! Special accolades to our new councillor, Heather Karrouze, whose words of tribute to her late husband, Mo Karrouze, were inspirational. Heather too will be dedicated to service, committed to community and a model of kindness.
