Former Brandon Wheat Kings goaltender Jiri Patera made his National Hockey League debut on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Czech product, who played two seasons in the Western Hockey League with Brandon, made 30 saves for the Vegas Golden Knights in a 5-3 victory against the St. Louis Blues.
Another former Brandon goalie, Logan Thompson, is injured, so Patera was called up from the Henderson Silver Knights, were he has spent most of the last three seasons.
