The Brandon Wheat Kings have to wait another day for their chance to claim the U15 AAA Manitoba Female Hockey League’s first-ever title.
Friday’s Game 2 against the Pembina Valley Hawks was postponed due to weather and will go at Carman’s Dufferin Arena today at 1 p.m.
All eight teams in the league, which was formed this season, are located outside Winnipeg.
Brandon won 4-2 in Game 1 in the Wheat City on Tuesday.
If necessary, Game 3 is set for J&G Homes Arena on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the U15 AAA Wheat Kings boys meet Winnipeg Wild Red in Game 5 of their best-of-seven Winnipeg U17 AAA Hockey League final at J&G Homes Arena today at 2:30 p.m.
The series is tied 2-2, with Winnipeg winning the first two games and Brandon the last two.
Game 6 is set for Winnipeg’s Hockey For All Centre on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., with Game 7, if needed, to be played at J&G Homes Arena on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Late Thursday, the Brandon Wheat Kings fell 6-5 to the Winnipeg Bruins in Game 3 of the best-of-seven Winnipeg U17 AAA Hockey League final after Carson White scored 9:08 into overtime at Brandon’s J&G Homes Arena.
The win gives the Bruins, who finished first in the league in the regular season with a record of 34-2-0-0, a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.
The league final continues with Game 4 at J&G Homes Arena on Saturday at 5 p.m. If needed, Game 5 is in Winnipeg on Sunday at 6:15 p.m., Game 6 is in Brandon on Tuesday, March 21 at 7 p.m., and a deciding Game 7 would be in Winnipeg on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:15 p.m.
