Birtle’s Tatum Amy has won Canada West’s female athlete of the year award after leading the Mount Royal Cougars to their first national title earlier this season.

Amy, who is graduating next month, was the top scorer in Canada West with 31 points and was named the conference’s women’s hockey player of the year.

She is now a finalist for U Sports female athlete of the year award, which will be announced later this month.

Alberta Golden Bears outside hitter Jordan Canham won the conference’s male athlete of the year award.
