Add another loss to the Brandon University Bobcats’ growing total. Tiffany Olsen scored 18 points and the Trinity Western Spartans scored their first weekend sweep of the season, handing the Bobcats a 74-37 Canada West conference women’s basketball defeat Saturday night in Langley, B.C.

Corina Reimer added 14 points and 11 rebounds, Rochelle Thoutenhoofd chipped in 11 points off the bench and Holly Strom scored 10 for the Spartans (3-19).

The Bobcats (0-20) got nine points from Chantel Gaslard. Brandon returns home next weekend to take on the Winnipeg Wesmen in their final home games of the season.

The men’s team was in action as of press time.

In late Friday action, Tyrell Mara had a big game, scoring 20 points and hauling down 21 rebounds as No. 4 Trinity Western handed the Bobcats their ninth straight conference loss with an85-64 win. The Bobcats (4-15) are mired in their longest losing streak since they joined the Canada West conference.

O’Brian Wallace had 17 points on 6-for-16 shooting and was the only Bobcat in double figures. Isaiah James had nine points and 10 rebounds and Kyrie Coleman had eight points and 10 boards.

TWU (18-3) also got 14 points from Kyle Coston, 12 from Calvin Westbrook and 11 from Daniel Horner. They outrebounded Brandon 61-38, including 26-13 in offensive rebounds.
