Former Brandon Wheat Kings standouts and current pro players Matt Calvert, Mark Derlago and Tyler Plante highlight a field of local celebrities who will take part in the 2012 Alumni Celebrity Classic Softball Game on Sunday, July 29.
The game, hosted by the Westman Midget Magic girls team, will feature some of Westman’s top current and former softball players. Former Wheat Kings Kelly Glowa and Scott Hlady, Brandon-born pro hockey player Alex Plante, as well as Manitoba Senior Baseball League veterans Kevin McNeill of the Brandon Cloverleafs and Nate Andrews of the Brandon Houstons Marlins will also take part, along with city councillor Murray Blight and CKLQ’s Bruce Luebke, among others.
The game will be played at Steve Clark Field on Hilton Avenue at 1 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex.
