T-Birds is returning to the Burger Brawl competition this year with a real eye-catching entry. The group’s “Ring Toss Burger” burger is hand-crafted with two quarter-pound, ground beef patties that are charbroiled and topped with cheddar cheese, red onions, bacon, barbeque sauce and an onion ring on top. Needless to say, you will definitely need both hands to handle this bad boy.
Having captured the Burger Brawl crowd over the last two years, The Dock on Princess is sticking with a winning formula. After all, the group’s Dock Burger is still a best-seller among patrons, with its aged Guinness Cheddar, maple-smoked bacon, coconut onion rings, lettuce, tomato and garlic aioli all being wrapped up inside a tomato basil kaiser bun. Could this combination of ingredients help The Dock cruise to yet another Burger Brawl victory? Only time will tell.
After taking a brief hiatus from this competition, the staff of Echo Restaurant are coming back to the Burger Brawl in a big way by offering up their Pub Burger. The base of this burger is composed of house-made, certified Angus beef, topped with aged cheddar, smoky bacon, lettuce, tomato and barbeque sauce with fried onion petals. Add a brioche bun into the mix and you have a burger that truly takes fine dining to the next level.
Coffee Culture’s status as the dark horse of the Burger Brawl continues in 2021, where the staff is serving up a Sierra Turkey Bagel sandwich. This sandwich is composed of turkey, lettuce and Roma tomatoes, topped with chipotle sauce and served on their signature Asiago bagel. Regardless of your definition of the word “burger,” Coffee Culture’s entry will provide a variety of flavours and textures that can’t be found anywhere else in the competition.
Looking to remind people why they won the inaugural Burger Brawl back in 2018, Benny’s Restaurant is once again sticking with a classic entry for the 2021 competition. Just like last year, the Benny Burger provides patrons with an exhaustive list of in-house spices and ingredients. This includes a six-ounce beef patty topped with sautéed onions, mushrooms, jalapeño peppers, lettuce, tomato, Sriracha mayo, tomato relish, crispy bacon and cheddar cheese. Each Benny Burger is also served on a Kaiser bun with french fries.
Despite its name, there is nothing “little” about this towering burger. Outside of its size, the staff of Smitty’s is also looking to make a splash in this year’s competition by throwing their chipotle lime coleslaw on two house-marinated battered chicken breasts. Plus, each piece of chicken will be complemented with mozzarella, cheddar cheese and four strips of bacon. And with all those ingredients being contained within a Kuipers brioche bun, your taste buds will really believe that the sky is falling.
One of the mainstays of Browns’ current menu, the Smokehouse Burger is poised to make a big impression in this year’s competition. Starting with a AAA graded beef patty, the burger builds upon itself by introducing aged cheddar, caramelized onions, hickory smoked bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, tangy barbecue sauce and some chipotle aioli into the mix. And don’t forget about the brioche bun, since it ensures that all those tasty ingredients can be enjoyed at the same time.
