Goodon, 37, testified at his trial yesterday in Brandon provincial court as he defended himself against the province’s Wildlife Act.

Brandon-Souris Conservative MP Larry Maguire doesn’t believe the national anthem needs a rewrite to be more gender-neutral. “I believe our national anthem is not broken,” Maguire said from Ottawa. “It has served Canada well over the past 100 years. I have spoken with numerous constituents and the vast majority prefer for the lyrics to remain as written. In fact, many of them raise the question why Parliament is dealing with this issue at all.”
The Brandon Teachers’ Association will have a new person at the helm of the organization next school year, the latest in a series of new names in leadership positions affecting local schools. On Monday night, Brandon School Division trustees agreed to second Peter Buehler from his position as librarian teacher at Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School to become president of the BTA.
