More than three dozen tickets were handed out by RCMP near Countryfest on Wednesday afternoon — and that was just the lineup.
Traffic was backed up for about a kilometre along Highway 10 as people waited for the Countryfest gates to open. Mounties patrolling the roads around the Countryfest site report issuing at least 32 tickets for speeding.
They also handed out four tickets for other traffic offences, and just one for open liquor.
Police say they were not called to the site itself on Wednesday.
Check stops will be conducted through the weekend in the Dauphin area.
