A burning semi trailer hauling a Class B hazardous material closed the Eastern Access Route for several hours Tuesday morning. The highway has since re-opened.
Firefighters say that the fire doesn't look like it was suspicious, and it's believed to hav ebeen caused by stuck brakes that overheated.
The semi driver noticed a wheel burning on his second trailer just past midnight, but was able to disconnect and pull away safely.
The burning trailer was hauling a Class B hazardous solution, police said, which are flammable, and they closed the intersection of Victoria Avenue East and the Eastern Access Route, also known as Highway 110, while firefighters put out the blaze.
There was nothing in a half-mile radius that needed to be evacuated, but the road remained closed until about 6:30 a.m.
