Four Manitobans are in the running for this year’s Manning Innovation Awards.
- Dr. Gurpreet Magnat and Dr. John Docherty of Novadaq Technologies Inc.;
- Ronald Lamoureux of Whirlwind Media Group; and
- Jeff Golfman of Prarie Pulp & Paper Inc.
The awards that have been issued since 1982 recognize and encourage innovation in Canada, with a top prize of $100,000 and secondary prizes of $25,000 and $10,000.
This year’s Manitoba nominees are among a group of 45 from seven provinces.
The nominees must have demonstrated a recent innovative talent in developing and successfully marketing a new concept, process or procedure.
Last year Kerry Green and Geoffrey Gyles of Wolf Trax DDP Micronutrients of Winnipeg won the $10,000 Innovation Award.
This year’s winners are to be announced at a gala dinner in Calgary, Oct. 16, 2013.
