Police say they responded to an alarm at the theatre just before 6 a.m. on Monday. When officers arrived, they could see a man inside the building, but he ducked out through an alternate exit and was able to run off, avoiding capture.

They later found that an interior wall in the theatre had been broken through, to get into an office.

However, while investigating through the day, police learned that a man matching the suspect's description had been seen in recent days around other businesses and motels in the area. They say he was spotted at odd times and in unauthorized areas.

Using surveillance video, as well as tips from employees at some of these businesses, police were able to identify and track down a suspect in the theatre break-in.

They say they arrested a 25-year-old Regina man last night, but he initially provided them a false name.

He's been charged with break and enter, breach of recognizance and public mischief, and was to appear in court this morning for a bail hearing, after being held overnight in custody.

Police say they are continuing their investigation and further charges may be pending. They encourage people to report any other similar incidents in recent days which may have involved this suspect.
