Severe weather warnings have been issued by Environment Canada for many parts of southwestern Manitoba.
The Brandon area is under a severe thunderstorm watch this evening, with the possibility of large hail.
Killarney, Minnedosa and Neepawa are also under thunderstorm warnings, and Melita and Virden are under tornado watches at this hour.
According to Environment Canada, a trough of low pressure moving through Southern Saskatchewan will trigger severe thunderstorms this afternoon as it moves into the hot and humid air over Southeastern Saskatchewan and Southwestern Manitoba. These thunderstorms will be capable of producing tornadoes in addition to large hail and torrential downpours.
