Hey there, time traveller!

The Brandon Wheat Kings will open the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup by wearing specially designed commemorative jerseys in their first game, Friday, May 14 against the OHL Champion Windsor Spitfires live on Rogers Sportsnet at 7:00 pm central.
And, if you like the look of them, you can buy them later. An online auction to bid on all Wheat Kings’ game worn and game issued commemorative jerseys will commence at puck drop, 7 p.m. local time on Friday night, at mastercardmemorialcup.com up until Tuesday May 25, 2010, at 9 p.m. CDT when the auction will close.
The opening game jerseys were designed by the CHL in conjunction with the Brandon Wheat Kings in honour of the Canadian Army, specifically the men and women past, present, and future of CFB Shilo. CFB Shilo is the site of the Memorial Cup Arrival and Rededication Ceremony which takes place Thursday, May 13 at 1:30 p.m.
The Memorial Cup will be rededicated tomorrow in Shilo to honour all of Canada’s war fallen. In 1919, the Memorial Cup was donated in 1919 by the Ontario Hockey Association as a memorial to those young men and women who had been given their lives in the defence of Canada during the First World War.
The 2010 edition of the tournament in Brandon will mark the 92nd time this prestigious trophy will be presented.
Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Dominion Command Poppy Trust Fund, which supports veterans and their families, buys hospital equipment, supports cadet groups, and provides student bursaries.
The commemorative jerseys worn by the host Kitchener Rangers and Rimouski Oceanic in the 2008 and 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup opening games cumulatively generated over $60,000 for the fund.
