Hey there, time traveller!

The annual general meeting for Brandon’s Daly House Museum will feature local history, dinner and a presentation on Westman’s connection to the Titanic.
The dinner meeting next Thursday is also guaranteed to have a little bit of drama — local actor George Buri will present the character of Brandon’s first mayor, after whom the museum was named.
Attendees are invited to dress in costumes of the Victorian or Edwardian period.
“We feel very strongly that our annual meeting should be a chance for Brandon residents, whether they are members of the museum or not, to learn something about local history,” said Trish Buri, one of the museum board’s directors.
After the dinner, there will be some trivia games about local history and a special presentation by Cecil Pittman, exploring Westman’s connection to the Titanic.
“The 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic is a month away, and we felt that the Titanic presentation would be quite timely,” Trish said. “It will be a great evening for local history buffs.”
The official annual general meeting will follow the dinner and presentation.
Dinner is to start at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, at the Ukrainian Reading Association Hall.
Tickets are $20 for the general public or $16 for members and are available at the Daly House Museum, although they must be purchased by March 13.
