A burning semi-trailer hauling a Class B hazardous material closed the Eastern Access Route for several hours Tuesday morning.
Firefighters say the fire doesn’t look suspicious. It’s believed to have been caused by stuck brakes that overheated.
The semi driver noticed a wheel burning on his second trailer just past 12 a.m., but was able to disconnect and pull away safely.
The burning trailer was hauling a Class B hazardous solution, police said, which was flammable. They closed the intersection of Victoria Avenue East and the Eastern Access Route, also known as Highway 110, while firefighters put out the blaze.
There was nothing in a half-mile radius that needed to be evacuated, but the road remained closed until about 6:30 a.m.
