It’s Grand Theft Auto, rural Manitoba style — a Waskada man has admitted to helping to steal a combine and taking it for a ride.
Kristopher Schultz, 28, pleaded guilty in Brandon provincial court on Tuesday to theft of a motor vehicle.
His lawyer, Ryan Amy, said his client admitted to taking part in stealing the combine on Nov. 4, 2015, in the Municipality of Brenda-Waskada .
Schultz admitted to being one of a number of people who were cruising back roads when they came across the machine.
He and another man then entered the combine, Schultz helped to start it and took a ride while his accomplice drove it.
Amy said the combine was driven onto the road and it collided with a pole.
A presentence report has been ordered and Schultz’s sentencing is set for July 27 in Boissevain.
Kevin Klyne, 26, is wanted on charges of theft of a motor vehicle and mischief.
