We also note that fundraising for two memorials dedicated to fallen men and women in uniform is well underway.

As the Sun reported on Saturday, fundraising efforts for the $1.25 million RCAF WWII Memorial, which will be located on the grounds of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum, are well underway.

As well, roughly $130,000 has been raised to date for the $160,000 Brandon Veterans Memorial to be built on the corner of 11th Street and Victoria Avenue. So far, 132 people have donated $100 or more for the monument.

Based on the concept drawings, both of these memorials will be fitting tributes to those who have served their country, and will stand as reminders to a grateful nation.
