Hey there, time traveller!

Families in Western Manitoba have a right to feel safe on our province’s highways. I agree with your recent editorial and Brandon Sun readers that fixing roads must be a priority for governments.
As the NDP candidate in Brandon West for the upcoming provincial election, I am 100 per cent supportive of Greg Selinger’s plan to continue investing in Manitoba’s highway infrastructure.
As your editorial mentioned, in 2007 Manitoba’s NDP government committed $60.9 million to improve Highway 10. In the last five years, your NDP government exceeded that commitment by investing $104 million to improve this vital transportation link. The intersections at Highway 10 and Provincial Road 355 and Highway 10 and Highway 45 have been improved and passing lanes have been added to Highway 10 south.
Ensuring that our highways are safe is a priority for Manitoba’s NDP government. One tragedy on our roads is one too many.
In June, Premier Greg Selinger announced an additional $520 million to upgrade Manitoba’s roads and bridges across the province.
This investment includes adding new passing lanes on Highway 10 north.
I can assure Brandon residents that Greg Selinger and your NDP are committed to making Highway 10 a safer drive for Manitoba motorists.
