Tyler Glen said it all

Thank you to Tyler Glen for his column “Parents Behaving Badly.” He really said what needed to be said and I have never been so disgusted with people and their comments regarding little Chase. Friends have told me they’d never lose their child, etc. etc then I’d relate how I lost one of mine but thankfully all was OK. Some comments on social media were deplorable. It only takes a minute and I don’t care who you are, you cannot watch them every second of the day. They may think they can but ….

Kudos to Tyler Glen

Good for you Tyler Glen for speaking up regarding the bad behaviour of so many people recently. I am a 50-something woman working on a computer all day who refuses to own a phone, or rather let a phone own me. I do not wish to get caught up in the craze of constantly being bombarded with the ignorance of cowards who will not speak their nastiness in person, but hide behind their devices. I hope these perfect people never have occasion to blink and lose track of a small child.

Why the difference?

One question. In the March 31 paper, there was an article about work being done and tree cleanup on the golf course. It stated that many of the trees had to be burned on site because they had Dutch elm disease and couldn’t be taken to a land fill. My question is . . . there are many trees culled from residential streets because of Dutch Elm disease and trucked away. Where are they taken?

BSD’s extravagant spending with our tax money

Walking by Linden Lanes school I saw a super duty half-ton truck with the Brandon School Division decals on it. For the high school taxes everyone pays, you would think the school board might be somewhat less extravagant. Sufficient would be an ordinary truck that would cost thousands less.

Doggone it, where are the police?

I am not a dog owner, but hate to see them mistreated. It makes me furious when I see people driving who don’t care for their pets or the lives of others. I don’t know where our police officers are when these idiots are driving with dogs clamouring all over their laps and hanging out the windows, getting in the way of driving. I see at least one every day on my short trips about town. Dogs should be belted in like everything else. Come on, council, where’s the “bylaw” and where are the police?
