What is your point?

You say you’re not under any law or don’t answer to anyone. So you’re going against any sort of discipline this country has established for itself by defying what they have in place. Don’t you think you should be talking about reaching some kind of treaty or agreement for your people? An agreement with the ones who are feeding you and your people. You can’t feed anyone on smokes!

Time to move on

Re: Stop the racial slurs. While in fact, I am empathetic to the aboriginals who lived through the residential schools and such, I also need to let them know they need to get past that. It has happened in the past — move on. Quit using it as a crutch. If I kept everything bottled up inside me of all the terrible things that have happened to me and my family in the past, I wouldn’t become a better person. What we are asking is just to move on with life. It happened in the past. It is tough, I get it, it’s tough. But you have got to move on and quit using it as a crutch. It doesn’t matter the colour of our skin — if we can’t let go of the negativity of the past, we will never be able to become better people and be able to move on in the future.

Irresponsible driving

Re: Number Of Fatal Crashes Worries Police. This concerns me too. Yesterday I was driving down south on No. 10 Highway and I was passed by a vehicle in excess of 120 km/h. But what worried me the most was the fact that there were children in the vehicle. So if the police would do a crackdown on that, it would be great.

Kudos to Grant McMillan for his letters to the editor to help us understand and see what is going on with mayor and council re: the budget. I deplorable and unacceptable budget and not response from your councillor when you phone them. This is terrible. It is time that these people stood up and started looking after the taxpayer.

Put it all in the deep freeze

At a time like this, city council should quit their dreaming and freeze everything — all costs, wages, bus fares, everything, in the 2011 budget. One year isn’t going to make a world of difference. It will take one year longer to have their dreams come true.
