Hey there, time traveller!

Conservatives are a knowledgeable bunch
Wow you learn something new every day. Now MLA Cliff Graydon and the Conservatives know more about wildlife than the Manitoba Conservation personnel who have been educated and trained in this field of endeavour. I agree with the editorial in July 6 Brandon Sun, apparently they are more concerned with this bear than the missing women and the floods this year. And as for his “the world is watching” — at least the Conservatives exaggerating things has not changed.
Enjoyed Canada Day in Rapid City
Congrats to the town of Rapid City for a sensational Canada Day fireworks display. And there was also a blues singer from Brandon and she was very good as well.
Let’s work together at the lake
The docks at Clear Lake for loading and unloading boats is in short, a nightmare! The park provides only three docks at the cove and one, I believe, at the golf course. That allows for eight boats to load and unload at the same time and on weekends, especially long weekends, it is chaos. More than 100 boats out there on long weekends and you can imagine the problems.
Dock rage
To the fellow on June 30 who decided to leave his pontoon boat tying up half a dock for about 15 minutes while he went to the washroom, shame on you! Put your boat on shore while you attend to those matters. And to the man who parked his big truck in a spot reserved only for boats and trailers who told me he was saving the spot for a friend coming with a boat, shame on you as well. No wonder tempers flare and accidents happen because everyone is very frustrated with the stupidity of others.
Be thankful for what you have
Regarding the situation at Clear Lake campground with the sewer and water and the doubling of your land rent. My family was there for many, many years and not once did we wish for sewer and water. The washrooms were very satisfactory and the shower building, when it was built, was heaven. Be thankful your cabins are not at Oak Lake Beach, where the new owners saw fit to raise the lot rent from less than $300 to more than $2,000 per year. The Clear Lake campground is perfect as far as we are concerned, so please leave well enough alone.
A restaurant with a view
I am concerned about Mum’s Restaurant up at the Wheat City Golf Course. It is a nice restaurant and the view is exceptional. Please keep it open.
It could happen here!
After the roof collapsed at the Elliot Lake Shopping Mall, I hope building inspectors in Manitoba are paying more careful attention to flat-roof buildings that are leaking in Brandon and other areas of the province.
Some big salaries out there — bigger unemployment lines
I am just disgusted at the salaries of the top city officials. You know, in a city like Brandon where there are so many poor people and unemployment rates are so low and mental states are so high they should slash their salaries because that is disgraceful.
Wages are over the top
I am reading the Brandon Sun and I am disgusted with the kind of wages that our city managers and some of the top staff there including the fire chief, the police chief and even our councillors are making. No wonder our taxes are as high as they are. They are blaming it on the flood but I don’t know about that. What happens if a flood ever happens again? We won’t be abe to afford to live in our houses with the kind of taxes we are going to have to pay. Some of our top people in Ottawa don’t make that much money. I just hope our taxes don’t get increased again after looking at all that.
