Nathan Bertholet drove in two runs and lifted the Hartney Hoppers to a 5-4 victory over the Deloraine Royals to tie their best-of-three SouthWest Baseball League quarter-final 1-1 Thursday night in Hartney.
Del Cowan went 1-for-2 and came around to score twice for the Hoppers while Finn Druwe hit a double, drove in one run and came around to score.
Marc Edwards and Patrick Vandoorne both drove in a pair of runs for Deloraine, which jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.
Ryan Reid picked up the win after allowing four runs on six hits and he struck out six in seven innings. Marc Edwards took the loss for surrendering five runs on five hits in seven innings of work.
Game 3 is tentatively set for Sunday in Deloraine at 7 p.m.
