Carberry’s Kelly Marnoch came up just shy of securing an early berth in next year’s Safeway Championship.
Marnoch and his foursome of Bart Witherspoon, Branden Jorgensen and Chris Cameron lost the final of Sunday’s spring berth bonspiel in Killarney 9-5 to Winnipeg’s Sam Good, who will compete in the provincial men’s curling championship next year in Selkirk.
Meanwhile, Winnipeg’s Barb Spencer beat Michelle Montford in the A-event and B-event finals to win the Scotties spring berth bonspiel in Killarney. Next year’s 16-team provincial women’s championship will take place in Beausejour.
