•40 YEARS AGO — The Brandon Wheat Kings upset the Edmonton Oil Kings 5-4 in WCHL action. Scoring for the Wheaties were Ralph Krentz, Ed Tkachyk, Rick Blight, Kelly Greenbank and Grant Thomson.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Dwayne Hoglander and Kevin Neufeld scored two goals each to pace Monarch Life of Souris to a 7-0 triumph over the Brandon Sabres in Brandon Men’s Broomball League play.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Derek Slevinsky scored twice for the Vincent Massey Vikings as they nipped the Boissevain Broncos 7-6 in Westman high school hockey action.
