Chad Young scored with 1:12 remaining in the third period to lift the Virden Golden Bears to a key victory over the Crocus Plainsmen on Tuesday in the Westman High School Hockey League.
Chris Campbell and Kole Harvey also scored for Virden (6-1-0), which moved into a tie for second with Dauphin in the 3A/4A Division. Zane Sawyer added two assists and Tyler Winters got the win in goal.
Kyle Johnston and Matt Wilson got the goals for Crocus, which fell to 4-4-1 in the 3A/4A Division. Connor Dalton was the losing netminder.
