It took a while, but city police were finally able to charge a man with impaired driving.

On July 27, a vehicle collided with a tree in the area of 13th Street and McTavish Avenue, Brandon Police Service said in a release Friday.

The male driver was taken to Brandon Regional Health Centre for treatment and it was believed that alcohol was involved.

Blood samples were obtained and a laboratory analysis determined that the driver had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of the collision.

A suspect was arrested on Wednesday.

A 19 year old Brandon man is to appear in court on Nov. 8, on a charge of impaired driving.
