Manitoba Junior Hockey League player of the week Russell Turner scored the shootout winner as the Waywayseecappo Wolverines beat the Dauphin Kings 3-2 on Tuesday night.

In other action last night, it was: Selkirk Steelers 3, Winkler Flyers 1.

At the Waywayseecappo Arena, Pilot Mound native Brett Pinkerton and Brett Lafond also scored in the shootout for the Wolverines (12-11-2), with Pinkerton and Brenden Luchinski also scoring in regulation time.

Jesse Sinatynski and Jon Gaudet scored in the shootout for the Kings (17-7-0), while Blake Kirkham and Tommy Hrazdira scored in regulation.

Brandon native Riley Feser made 28 stops in regulation time and stopped two of four shootout attempts for Wayway.

Steelers 3 Flyers 1

In Winkler, Hudson Friesen scored twice and Shane Gingera once for Selkirk (14-11-2). Justin Faux scored the lone goal for the Flyers (6-14-6), who fired 60 shots at Steelers netminder Trent Michalick.

Stampeders-Pistons deal

The Swan Valley Stampeders have sent 19-year-old goaltender Alcide Grenier to the Steinbach Pistons in exchange for future considerations.
