Another -30 C morning — with windchill values sub -40 — will relax its grip this afternoon, as temperatures moderate to about -16 C under mostly sunny skies.

It’ll stay clear and chilly again tonight, as it dips to a low of -30 C again. Relatively light winds of about 15 km/h will be enough to push the wind chill to -34.

Wednesday will be sunny but cold, with a high of -24 C, and it’ll stay in the -20s for the next few days, with a high of -21 C on Thursday and -20 C on Friday, along with lows of -29 C both days.

Relief is scheduled for Saturday, with a predicted high of -5 C and a 60 per cent chance of flurries.

Sunday and Monday are forecast to be fairly mild as well, with highs of -11 C those days.

The normal high for this time of year is -12 C; the normal low is -22 C.
