Prairie Mountain Health — which includes the former Assiniboine, Brandon and Parkland regional health authorities — has released a new organizational logo.
Board chair Marg MacDonald called the logo an important aspect of the new organization’s identity.
“(It) plays a pivotal role in communicating vision, mission and values,” she said.
“A strong brand helps to build public awareness, confidence, trust and support. It also instills pride internally among staff members.”
Prairie Mountain Health CEO Penny Gilson said the release of the new logo is a great regional milestone and at it’s heart is an unwavering commitment to patient- or client-centred care.
The logo was designed simply, with lines that are meant to represent in an abstract and broad way the previous regions associated with Prairie Mountain Health.
The logo is also designed to capture the geography of the new region with the bottom layer representing the Prairies, the layer above the mountains and a blue sky above them all.
The colours were chosen to bring the lines to life. The colour green symbolizes growth, renewal and health. Orange is associated with happiness and encouragement. Blue symbolizes trust and confidence, and is associated with depth and stability.
Overall this lighter, modern colour palette of the logo was chosen to represent life and vitality.
Prairie Mountain Health encompasses an area of more than 66,000 square kilometres and employs more than 8,500 people.
