The Brandon Sun would like to wish readers a happy and safe Louis Riel Day. Here’s a list of open hours for some businesses and important services for the holiday Monday:

Your newspaper

• The Brandon Sun will not publish Monday but will return on Tuesday.

City of Brandon

• City hall and the Civic Services Complex will be closed on Monday and will resume regular hours on Tuesday.

Transit

• On Monday, the Information Centre and Transit Administration Office will be closed, and buses won’t run. Handi Transit will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Travel

• Buses at the Grey Goose-Greyhound bus depot. Call 204-727-0643 for times.

Liquor

• Brandon: The Victoria Avenue, Corral Centre and Shoppers Mall Liquor Marts will be open on Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Killarney: This Liquor Mart will be closed.

• Rural: The Dauphin, Roblin, Neepawa, Virden and Minnedosa locations will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Privately owned liquor vendors in rural Manitoba are subject to arrangements within their own municipalities.

• All licensed premises, including hotel beer vendors, may be open for liquor service.

Health

• Brandon Clinic West, at 2835 Victoria Ave., will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday.

• The Dr. Rose Farag clinic at 1100 Richmond Ave. will be open from 8:30 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m.

• The Brandon Clinic, Newmount Medical Clinic, Wheat City Clinic, Western Medical Clinic, Trinity Medical Clinic, Rhema Clinic and Rosser Medical Group will be closed.

• Brandon Clinic Pharmacy, Miller’s Pharmacy, Wheat City Pharmacy, Medical Centre Pharmacy and Super Thrifty Pharmacy will all be closed on Monday.

Garbage

• There will be no change to the garbage and recycling collection schedule.

• The Eastview Landfill Site will be open on Monday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

• The Eco Centre for used oil, oil filters, oil container, antifreeze and antifreeze container disposal is closed on Sundays and all statutory holidays. It will be closed on Monday.

Canada Post

• On Monday, Canada Post offices will be open and there will be mail delivery and collection. However, post offices operated by the private sector will be open or closed according to the hours of service of the host business.

Shopping

• Shoppers Mall will be open on Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Shoppers Mall hours don’t necessarily affect the hours for Smitty’s Family Restaurant and Lounge. Call 204-571-3160 for open hours.

• The Town Centre businesses and offices are closed on Monday.

BRANDON PUBLIC LIBRARY

The library will be closed on Monday.
