Hey there, time traveller!

The Rotary Club of Brandon recently received $1,000 from the Shell Canada Community Service Fund.
These funds have been awarded to recognize Don Partrick, a Shell Canada retiree, who is actively involved in The Rotary Club of Brandon and is chairman of the club’s public relations.
“The funds will be used to purchase equipment for The Rotary Club of Brandon bi-annual book sale,” club president Harvey Laluk said.
Rotary’s two book sales each year have become a major fundraiser for the club’s many community projects.
The sales’ success would not be possible without the generosity of the citizens of Brandon and surrounding area, who donate all of the books for sale.
The Rotary Club of Brandon held its 20th book sale March 28-30. To date, the sale has generated more than $380,000 — all of which has gone back into the community.
“Shell believes contributions of time, effort and caring to not-for-profit organizations benefits the entire community,” said Wayne Dupont, Shell retail station manager for Brandon.
“Through the Community Service Fund, we recognize and support Shell people who give personal time to not-for-profit organizations on a regular, volunteer basis.”
Shell has supported Shell volunteers through the Community Service Fund for more than 35 years. In 2012, Shell Canada granted more than $400,000 to more than 300 non-profit organizations across Canada.
Information about the Community Service Fund and Shell’s other social investment programs is available at www.shell.ca/community.
