WINNIPEG — One of the 11 individuals arrested in an RCMP drug sweep in January pleaded guilty Monday to cocaine trafficking.
Danny Vu Tran, 27, will be sentenced June 26.
Four others among those arrested by the RCMP have pleaded guilty for a variety of drug charges and were given prison sentences ranging from five to nine-and-a-half years.
The RCMP had dubbed their investigation Project Dilemma. Initially, it was set up to break up the Rock Machine biker gang using a member of the gang as a covert, paid informant who set up deals with his gang members and independent drug dealers.
The RCMP trumpeted the investigation had effectively broken up the Manitoba chapter of the Rock Machine, with four of the bikers in custody along with an associate, and their informant relocated out of the province on the witness protection program.
