Former United States marine and current Boissevain resident Frank Godon will be the Libertarian candidate in the upcoming Brandon-Souris byelection.
Godon, 52, is of Metis heritage and was born and raised in the Turtle Mountain area. Godon said he decided to throw his hat back in the ring to “give the people of Brandon-Souris another option.”
In September, Godon declared his intention to seek the Liberal nomination, however withdrew from the race a few weeks later due to family concerns.
The vision of the Libertarian Party of Canada is “less government, lower taxes, more freedom.”
The Brandon-Souris byelection will take place Nov. 25.
