Organizers of the Manitoba Summer Fair say there will be a little bit of everything at next month’s fair in Brandon.

Entertainment and attractions will include outdoor acts, educational shows, unique animals and some longtime favourites during the event, which will run from June 4-8 at the Keystone Centre.

One of the attractions will be the Xpogo Stunt Team. Described as the most talented and experienced extreme pogo performance team in the world, they’ll perform three shows daily on the Keystone grounds. Team members Mike Hughes and Curt Markwardt will jump more than nine feet in the air on their next-generation pogo sticks while also doing flips and other tricks.

Another fast-paced act coming to the 2014 fair will be the West Coast Lumberjack Show, which has been featured on “The Bachelor Canada” and “Canada’s Got Talent.” As part of this outdoor show, lumberjacks will perform chainsaw carving, axe throwing, tree climbing, log rolling and more.

Rounding out the outdoor entertainment is Freddy Fusion’s Science Magic Show. He will perform two shows daily fusing science and magic into an entertaining and educational show.

Featured in the KidZone area of the fair will be Aussie Kingdom, a unique and educational experience that will take children on a journey to the Australian Outback through the animals, marsupials and reptiles only found in the land Down Under.

Also featured in the KidZone will be Doodles the Clown, a longtime crowd favourite at the Manitoba Summer Fair.

Other returning attractions include the petting zoo, battle of the bands, the hunter/jumper horse show, American quarter horse show, Aboriginal Showcase: Spirit Of All Nations, Chrome in the Trees and the demolition derby.

Advance tickets, including ride passes and gate admission, are available for purchase at Sobeys locations and at Shoppers Mall in Brandon. Outside Brandon, tickets are available at participating credit unions.

Before the fair starts — at 4 p.m. on June 4 — a free children’s ticket is available for download online at brandonfairs.com.
