Police pulled nine trucks or trailers off the road after they failed safety inspections on Tuesday.
Officers with the traffic unit joined forces with officers from Manitoba Motor Carrier Enforcement and Vehicle Standards to conduct inspections on commercial vehicles Tuesday, bringing 30 vehicles into the Keystone Centre parking lot and inspecting a total of 37 units.
Inspections turned up a number of violations, with police issuing 15 tickets for offences such as failing to have proper safety equipment, driving an unregistered vehicle, failing to display correct number plates and failing to produce a driver’s licence.
Eighteen of the units passed the inspection, but 10 units failed, and nine were taken off the road.
