On the sixth anniversary of her disappearance, police are reminding people that they continue to search for Amber Lynn McFarland.
McFarland vanished in the early morning hours of Oct. 18, 2008, after leaving a Portage la Prairie bar.
Since then, RCMP say that they and her family have been working hard to find answers about what happened to her. However, they say several important questions remain unanswered.
“This case is still very much under investigation,” said Sgt. Dan Barnabe of RCMP D Division’s historical case unit. “We are following up tips at this moment and are asking for any other help that the public can provide to assist us in bringing Amber back to her family. What Amber’s family has endured is unimaginable, and we will continue to aggressively investigate this matter as a homicide.”
He says there’s an RCMP tip line set up at 204-984-6447.
“The public could play a key role in this investigation,” Barnabe said. “Please don’t assume the RCMP knows what you know.”
Tips related to McFarland’s disappearance can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by texting “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
