Ken’s Chinese restaurant, known for its Cantonese-style fare, now has a drive-thru after the driver of a vehicle plowed through the restaurant’s glass window on 18th Street on Wednesday afternoon.
The condition of the driver is unknown, but no injuries have been reported. It is believed that no one was in the restaurant at around 2 p.m. when the incident happened, despite a sign outside of Ken’s listing new hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays.
The cost of damages to the restaurant is unknown, but the car appeared to have hit a wall near the back of the eatery tearing down some wallpaper and leaving shards of glass strewn across the pavement.
Emergency crews who responded to the call were seen sweeping up the mess. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but early reports suggest that alcohol may have been a factor.
