The Miniota-Elkhorn C-Hawks will have one more chance to claim their third North Central Hockey League title in four years.
The C-Hawks fell 5-4 to the Moosomin Rangers in Game 4 of their best-of-five championship series in Elkhorn on Sunday afternoon. The series is tied 2-2 and Game 5 will take place Friday in Moosomin, Sask.
Owen Wuske scored the winner with five minutes left in the third period, but Brayden Holloway led the Rangers with a hat trick.
Kyle McLeod had a goal and an assist for the C-Hawks, while Sean McKean picked up a pair of assists.
The NCHL all-star teams were also announced Sunday. The Rangers and Russell Rams each had two players voted first-team all-stars. Goalie Kyle Beckett and defenceman Josh Elmes of the Rangers were joined by Russell forwards Derek Falloon and Kyle Fraser, C-Hawks’ Dillon Stonehouse and Steegan Stoski of the Grandview Comets.
The second-team all-stars were: goalie Layne Anderson of the Kenton Cougars; defencemen Jaxon Elmes of Moosomin and Dallas Drysdale of Grandview; and forwards Luke Stokotelny of Grandview, Curtis Gardham of Miniota-Elkhorn and McLeod.
