• 10 a.m. — The33rd annual used book sale continues at the Brandon Public Library until Saturday during regular library hours.
• 5:30 p.m. — Minnedosa Drama Club presents “The Boardinghouse” at the Minnedosa Community Conference Centre. Tonight is a dinner theatre. Brandon Transit will be offering free bus rides the day of the parade from 4 p.m. to midnight on all bus routes! Parade starts at Sixth Street and Rosser Avenue and goes to 17th Street, then up to Princess Avenue then back to Sixth Street.
• 6:30 p.m. — Champion Digital — Santa Photo Central in The Town Centre (formerly the Canadian Blood Services location) are open after the Santa parade for reading with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Families can warm up with free hot chocolate and cookies from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

• 1 p.m. — The Brandon University Low Brass Studio are holding a benefit concert at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall until 2:30 p.m. to raise funds for the beautification of our campus. Aaron Wilson, director. Admission is free but are accepting donations. Concert will feature chamber and solo music, all for the trombone, euphonium and tuba.
• 3:30 p.m. — The Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music Honours Recital takes place at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall with Mary Jo Carrabré, director. No admission charge.

At the museums and galleries
• The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum — The only museum solely dedicated to preserving the history of the thousands of Canadian, American and Commonwealth air personnel who trained under the “Plan” during the Second World War. • The Arts West Travelling Gallery — The gallery is at the Shoal Lake Library.
• The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery (RCA Museum) — Building N118, Patricia Road, CFB Shilo. Showing at the museum is a temporary exhibit, the “Anne Frank Exhibit — A History for Today” until Jan. 12, 2018. There are also five major galleries and a gun park with more than 30 vehicles and guns in the park surrounding the museum. Wheelchair accessible. • The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba — In the Main Gallery: “The Blue Pill,” Jennifer Chan uses video, sculpture, webpages, sound and print to explore her frustrated relationship with radical politics, workplace mundanity and equality. Community Gallery: We are gearing up for “One Plus One: A Youth Exhibition.” Youth are invited to submit work to be displayed in the Community Gallery between Nov. 16 and Jan. 6. • The Daly House Museum — Original home of Brandon’s first mayor, Thomas Mayne Daly, was built in 1882 and is the only period museum in western Manitoba. Our new exhibit, “Spectacles Then and Now: A Century of Recreational Activities in Brandon and Western Manitoba,” features restored and printed photographs from the Ernest Christie Whitehead collection taken around 1909 and 1910 by Joseph Blyth Whitehead, owner and editor of The Brandon Sun from 1903-1937. These photos have been matched with present-day photos of similar activities and locales. On exhibit until February 2018. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Admission charged. • The Tommy McLeod Curve Gallery at Brandon University — A new exhibition, “Foundations Under Brandon University: A Campus Retrospective,” consisting of a series of visual vignettes that highlight the development of the 18th Street campus is on display until April 2018. Plans and photographs housed in the SJ McKee Archives illustrate both the 118-year evolution of the campus and also contrast with drawings of what the campus was imagined to be. Free to the public and open during regular library hours.
