A 14-year-old girl was arrested on Tuesday after she allegedly tried to burn a group home worker with cigarettes and push her into traffic.

Police received a report from the employee of the group home in Brandon stating the teen had assaulted her.

In addition to trying to burn the victim and push her into traffic, the teen allegedly also threw rocks at her.

The teen was arrested at the home and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court on Wednesday.

A 15-year-old boy was also arrested for allegedly assaulting a group home worker in June.

The employee reported the teen punched them in the face twice while he was staying in the home.

The teen, who was in custody on an unrelated matter, was charged with assault and released to attend court in September.
