Brandon’s newest water attraction is quite literally blowing up. No, it’s not exploding. A collection of inflatable water slides is in the process of being set up to open this week.
As previously reported in The Sun, eight inflatable water slides as well as bubble soccer and archery tag attractions are being set up on the grounds next to the Keystone Centre. It had been reported that the planned opening was today, but attraction organizer James Ruser said that final inspections and water hookups will be happening that day.
Ruser said that there will be a barbecue and soft opening for family and friends held on Thursday evening with the park being open to the general public on Friday.
The water park’s website lists daily hours of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Entry is free for guests aged two and under, $10 for guests aged three to 10, $12 for those aged 11-18 and $15 for everyone else. An adult who wants to go in but doesn’t want to slide can enter for $8, and that comes with a free beverage. Activities other than the water slides, like bubble soccer, will cost extra.
The inflatable water park plans to be open until July 28. Ruser said that he may take some of the attractions to other locations in the area after the run in Brandon is completed. “We’re thinking of going up on the No. 1 highway and having a smaller water park there for August,” Ruser said.
Another group plans to open a floating inflatable water park on Minnedosa Lake on June 24.
